“Crash Courses”
Please plan approximately 1.5 hours for the tour and tasting.
In the early 2000s, Cindy Steinbeck began leading educational vineyard tours—drawing on the grape-growing expertise of her father, the family’s deep Paso Robles roots, and the connection of Scriptures to life in the vineyard. She named the tour the Crash Course, honoring a 1956 military plane crash on the property and reflecting the in-depth, hands-on education guests receive.
- Tour our 300-acre historic vineyard in the Geneseo District of Paso Robles.
- Led by a Steinbeck family member in our classic 1958 Jeep Willy.
- Maximum group size: 4 adults (up to 6 small adults in cozy fashion).
Established in 1982
Steinbeck Vineyards is the culmination of Howie Steinbeck's vision for his family's property. With three generations of Paso Robles' farming experience behind him, Howie partnered with Gary Eberle and planted one parcel of Cabernet Sauvignon and one of Chardonnay along the driveway to the family ranch house. Since that first planting in the 1980s, the vineyard has expanded to fill the 300 acre property.
